Section 1 Driver of the Month

The August Driver of the Month is Gale Mitchell l!

With the huge amount of pipe that we're hauling out of Commerical Resins, Gale has been working long days getting as much preloaded out of there as possible to ensure the drivers don't have to go in there and wait to load. This lets the drivers turn and burn and we're able to move more loads with less drivers.

Driver of the month is selected through nominations from dispatch based on miles, idle time, fuel efficiency, on time delivery, safety and overall quality of work.

Monthly cash prizes will be given to each winner in the amount of $100. Winners will be announced by the 15th of the following month.

Section 2 Support Employee of the Month

The August Support Employee of the Month is Kori Hrbek !

For the last month or two I've asked Kori, usually at the last minute, for plane tickets and motel reservations for all the people we've brought up here. She's always found the best deals and made sure there were no problems (except when Don can't get them back to the airport on time). She's also taken it upon herself to do some tutorial sessions on the driver payroll system so we can work to get that streamlined and more efficient

If someone in the office, shop, brokerage or warehouse went above and beyond to help you out, let me know and nominate them for support employee of the month!

Monthly cash prizes will be given to each winner in the amount of $100. Winners will be announced by the 15th of the following month.

Section 3 Welcome Aboard

Charlene Martinez-Galloway

Charlene will be starting with Adams & Son Transportation Services Monday. She will be working out of Alton, IL as a freight broker. She has years of experience as a freight broker and I think she'll be a huge asset to us. She'll be out here in Sidney training and meeting everyone from Tuesday through Friday, so when you see her, please say hi.

Melissa Sarvela and Missy Lester

Welcome Melissa Sarvela and Missy Lester to the Adams & Son team. They will both be working with us as off site brokers.

Section 4 Turn off your truck and EARN EXTRA BUCKS!

Idle Time/MPG Bonus

Well, it's finally here! We've gotten all the software in all the trucks. We're now able to track everyones idle time and miles per gallon. That means it's time to start a bonus program to reward you for lowering your idle time and increasing your fuel efficiency!

Starting March 1st, we will begin a bonus program for all company drivers. There will be cash rewards if you attain certain levels.

To qualify for the bonus, you must run at least 8,000 miles, and hit BOTH the idel time percentages and the MPG for the month.

With a few simple changes such as using IdleAire whenever possible, setting the cruis at 70 instead of 72, and turning the truck off whenever possible, these bonus levels are certainly possible. So if you want to make some extra money, just remember to TURN OFF your trucks to MAKE EXTRA BUCKS!!

Fleet averages - 52% idle time and 5.2 MPG.

This bonus is calculated and paid on a monthly basis to all company trucks that hit any of the levels and drive at least 8,000 miles a month.

*Any trucks with APU's will be calculated at a different level.
